Open restaurant floors and lounge centres often lack walls for banquettes. The Back-to-Back Island creates one: two seating faces share a central spine about 6.25 in (16 cm) thick, so a single 79 in (200 cm) piece serves two tables and about eight diners.
The ends are rounded to an approx. 11 in (28 cm) radius so guests and staff do not catch hips on sharp corners, and a brass capping runs along the top of the spine. Back height is kept at a mid-low 37.5 in (95 cm), so sightlines across the room stay open.
Construction
- Hardwood frame with upholstered spine on both faces
- Sprung seats with HR foam
- Bouclé shown with contrast piping
- Brass spine capping; recessed plinth
Several islands can be lined up with gaps between them for service routes.
